Did you know that positive attitude does miracles? It lightens up people’s days, opens doors, and makes the person who possesses it irresistible. That is about 75% of what you need to build a successful career and personal life. So why not start becoming more positive today?
When I was a kid, every summer I used to visit my dad who lived abroad. On one of the cloudy days we had coffee with a friend of his, quite an arrogant and sharp guy. Suddenly the sun came out and I said: ‘You see, I brought some sun with me’! My dad’s friend answered rapidly: ‘Come back to earth! You can’t possibly think that you influence the weather’.
Back then I was naïve enough to believe him! 20 years later I realized how wrong I was.
One smile and good attitude can light up a room. Same as one negative and mean behavior can destroy moods of dozens of people for the whole day.
Just observe how your bad mood and few rude sentences destroy the mood at home for the whole evening. Admit it! You choose the weather.
At work things may be different.
We learn to avoid toxic people and we cope with mood swings of our leaders. We blame colleagues and busy life for all the tension and negativity.
But how many of us are ready to take ownership of the moods of others?
Do you ever think about how often you upset people? How often do you make them smile? How often your aggression during the meeting was transmitted to others? If you never asked yourself those questions, then it’s time to do so. And in case you discover that you are rather a stormy-weather-maker then you should seriously consider some self-development work. Why?
Because developing a positive attitude is a Super Power that does miracles. Let me name a few:
- It makes you truly happy regardless of the circumstances
- It makes you likable and attractive – something all of us dream about
- It makes people around you happier. Yes, you heard me. Latest research shows that feelings of joy can be transmitted within group of individuals.
Isn’t it enough? Isn’t it great to know that you have a power to positively influence people’s lives? I wish someone would have told me that 20 years ago …
The good news is that it is never too late to start be nicer and more positive. In fact, another research found that optimism has nothing to do with inherited character, but it is rather a skill that can be taught.
So if you fancy to have a Super Power, you know what to do!
And we’ll give you more insights on how in our next post.
